On this date in 1965, Robert Bartleh Cummings, later to be known as Rob Zombie, was born in Massachusetts.
Zombie rose to prominence as a founding member of the heavy metal band White Zombie, and later as a solo musician. In later years, he branched out of music and began writing, producing and directing feature films, including “House of 1000 Corpses” and its follow-up, “The Devil’s Rejects.”
Rob Zombie first partnered with Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood for the 1999 house, “The Thrilling, Chilling World of Rob Zombie.” This was followed in 2000 by “Rob Zombie’s The House of 1000 Corpses” house, and a decade later with “Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses: in 3D ZombieVision” (2010 and 2011).
