As he likes to do from time to time, Universal Studios Hollywood’s HHN Creative Director, John Murdy, opened up his Twitter for a brief Q&A session. We’ve consolidated these into a little easier format below:
Q. Is the Predator cloaking system incorporated into the AVP maze?
A. My original plan was just to tell people it was there…ya know because he’s invisible but yes, there’s a nod to thatQ. Do you have a check list of mazes you want to do before you retire?
A. I do, have already done a lot of them. Some are just impossible to get the rights to. Classic Universal monsters is on itQ. If you had to choose between making a maze based off The Shining or The Exorcist what would you choose?
A. The Exorcist. Nothing scares me more than that.Q. Are you going to be voicing the Stairway again?
A. Yes I am…have you listened to that track carefully? He he heQ. How did the idea for a AVP maze came to be? Did you originally wanted just an Alien or just a Predator House?
A. Chris & I talked about Alien 3 years ago, Mike in Orlando was game. Didn’t think of AVP till later. 2 creatures in 1 maze!Q. Have you and Mr. Aiello ever visited each others HHN event?
A. He’s come to USH but I have this crazy streak I don’t want to break, never missed a night of HHN since 06Q. Will the Alien Queen and/or Pred-Alien make an apperance in AVP?
A. one of those will. : )Q. Will there be a nightly code word maze this year where they give us a prize? (Like Silent Hill & Insidious)
A. Yes. From Dusk Till Dawn. The Gecko Brothers and The Doorman will play a roleQ. Is “From Dusk Till Dawn” based on the Titty Twister? Or Santanico’s maze?
A. Oh both, The Twister, the temple catacombs…etc
