As promised earlier in the day, John Murdy has returned to Twitter to give us a little more information about this year’s upcoming “An American Werewolf in London” maze. We’ve condensed his ‘tweet-fest’ below for easier reading:
The Setting:
There is something evil lurking on The Moors, a cursed creature that prowls the countryside at night, searching for unsuspecting prey. There are many names for this cursed creature…Lycanthrope, Shape Shifter, Werewolf! Legend has it that those who have been attacked by a werewolf and survive become a werewolf themselves. This is the fate that has befallen David Kessler, an American backpacker who was brutally attacked on the Moors by a mysterious animal. David’s friend Jack was killed in the attack…he was the lucky one. Now, when the moon is full, David transforms into the mythical beast and terrorizes the English capital…An American Werewolf in London!
Stay on the road, keep clear of the Moors…beware the moon…and God help you!
The Inspiration:
I am so psyched to bring AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON to HHN. Been wanting to do this maze for years…almost did a few times…now its on. Obviously we talked about the maze at Scare LA with writer/director/producer John Landis last Sunday but for those who couldn’t attend. This maze is obviously based on Mr. Landis’ 1981 film, a milestone in horror cinema…and a milestone in movie make up. Prior to 1981, there was no Academy Award for make up (hard to believe huh?) but that all changed with Rick Baker’s transformation scene. Rick Baker won the very first Academy Award for Make Up (and has won 7 total now) so its a huge honor to pay tribute to Rick’s work.
Coast to Coast:
AWIL was done very well at our sister park in Orlando last year so owe a debt of gratitude to Mike @HorrorNightsORL for all the help! You also know that even though we sometimes share properties between parks, there’s always differences coast to coast, which I think is cool. So…you might see some scenes you didn’t experience last year in the Hollywood version and vice versa…can’t wait for you to experience it!
And now, we present some of the recently-tweeted information about tickets for HHN Hollywood:
Since I am the Creative Director/Producer, I use Twitter to do behind the scenes of creating HHN, so that’s what I focus on…THE CREATIVE. Our HHN Facebook page is for more general info on the event, and when our website launches next week that will be your source for tickets. I know you all want to know about tickets, dates, VIP, FOL, etc…all that info will be available next week when the website launches.
As we get closer to the event, I’ll tweet inside tips for the best way to experience HHN…and other exclusive info just for Twitter. The big news I do have for you on tickets is that the Killer Deal Night/Frequent Fear pass will go on sale before general tickets go on sale. I’m telling you about this because we only offer that as a link through Facebook and Twitter.
It will go on sale THIS FRIDAY AT 10 AM PST. From past years I know that these passes will sell out FAST. There is a limited number of them and when they’re gone…they’re gone! I do know that there will be two different versions of the pass…I believe the difference will be the number of nights offered. That’s all the info on KDN I can share with you right now. Check HHN Facebook for other info. We’ll tweet the link Friday morning…10 AM. Oh..I also know that we increased the number of limited tix for Killer Deal Night from last year. I do advocate for the fans of HHN.
Many people have asked about the Killer Deal (aka Frequent Fear) pass we offer. I have some info. Once upon a time that pass was part of our general ticket mix but it got axed years ago as the event got more popular…BUT…The last few years we have offered a limited number of those passes early to the HARD CORE FANS OF HHN WHO WOULD DIE IF THEY DIDN”T GET IT. So Killer Deal aka Frequent Fear has become the much coveted “Golden Ticket” of HHN…limited number but we tweet the info to you first. Happy to say there will still be the Killer Deal/Multi Night passes offered again this year…in fact there willl be TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS. As in year’s past, there will be a special link that we will do just for the social media fans (HHN Facebook and Twitter).
These always go on sale before general tickets go on sale…when…well a little birdie told me this Friday at 10 AM so plan ahead. So you heard it hear first…Killer Deal Night (AKA Frequent Fear AKA HHN Multi Night Pass) will go on sale THIS FRIDAY AT 10 AM. General tickets will go on sale next week…but if you want to buy the Multi Night passes…that’s what’s going on sale Friday…10 AM PST.
