The Setup:

A SPACESHIP has crash landed in a forest in a remote section of America. The ship belonged to a hunter race of aliens known as PREDATORS. Unfortunately, the ship was carrying life form samples of another ALIEN species, a species that uses human hosts to propagate their kind. Now those lifeforms have escaped into the countryside and a battle between the hunters and their prey is inevitable. Unfortunately, when these two ancient enemies clash…Humanity is caught in the crossfire! Welcome to AVP: Alien Vs Predator, a terrifying new experience where rival alien species fight to the death with Earth as their battleground. Featuring mind blowing special-effects and the two most iconic movie properties in the horror/science-fiction genre…ALIEN and PREDATOR. AVP is coming to HHN!On Developing the Maze:
Fans have been requesting Alien & Predator for years, now you get BOTH! Opening night HHN 2011, my Art Director Chris & I sat up on a hill on the Universal backlot and talked about Alien for 2 hours. We had just finished creating THE THING maze and started to turn our attention to other properties with big movie creatures..could we do it? We’re both HUGE fans but we knew those characters were extremely complicated, huge scale…damn near impossible for a live event like HHN. Now 3 years later we’re doing not only the Xenomorphs of Alien but Predator too! 2 of the most iconic movie creatures of all time in 1 maze!Want to give credit where credit is due and thank Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillis, the Academy Award winning creature creators from ADI. Tom and Alec let us use all the original movie molds from AVP in the creation of the creatures you’ll experience in the maze! That means the creatures you’ll see in AVP: Alien VS Predator are straight from the films…can’t get more authentic than that! THANKS!

For those of you who follow the maze CODE NAMES, AVP was the code name “Beauty is only Skin Deep” Will now reveal how the hints related. I released 3 statements about the code name “Beauty is only Skin Deep”, 2 were red herings, 1 was a true statement…that statement was “Beauty is only skin deep,” which refers to the BUSINESS of Beauty products” The beauty product business = AVON (or “AVP” on the NY stock enchange). I also released the hint “Ding Dong…” on April 1st. A cruel carny trick of reverse psychology since it was released on April Fools Day. “Ding Dong Avon calling” was the slogan of Avon commericals for many, many years…so that’s how the hints related to AVP (evil laughter).[/box]
